RRB JE Recruitment 2026 has been released with Centralised
Employment Notice (CEN) No. 04/2026 for recruitment to Junior Engineer (JE) and
Depot Material Superintendent (DMS) posts of Indian Railways. The vacancy
includes 3993 posts of JE and DMS in 21 Railway Recruitment Boards. Eligible
candidates can apply online from 14 August 2026 to 13 September 2026 through
the RRB application portal.

Educational Qualification
Junior Engineer (JE)
The candidates applying for the post of Junior Engineer
should have three-year Diploma in Engineering from AICTE approved institutions
or its equivalent qualification like B.E./B.Tech. of the relevant discipline.
The following groups of engineering are eligible for the
post:
• Mechanical and Allied Engineering
• Electrical and Allied Engineering
• Electronics and Allied Engineering
• Civil and Allied Engineering
In addition, the candidate has to choose the discipline and
exam group according to the qualification he/she is applying for.
Depot Material Superintendent (DMS)
For DMS posts, candidates should have a three-year Diploma in
Engineering in any discipline from a recognized university or institution.
Candidates with higher engineering qualifications like B.E or B.Tech are also
eligible.
RRB JE Age Limit 2026
The age limit for RRB JE and DMS Recruitment 2026 is 18 to 33 years, with age calculated as on 1 January 2027. Category-wise relaxation is available according to government rules.

RRB JE Salary 2026
Selected candidates will be appointed at Pay Level 6 under the 7th Central Pay Commission, with an initial basic pay of ₹35,400 per month. The applicable allowances and benefits will be provided according to Railway rules.
RRB JE Selection Process 2026
The selection process consists of the following stages:
1. 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT)
2. 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT)
3. Document Verification
4. Medical Examination
The first-stage CBT is a screening examination, while the second-stage CBT includes discipline-specific technical questions.

The duration is 90 minutes, with 120 minutes for eligible candidates using a scribe.

The second-stage CBT is conducted for 120 minutes, with additional time for eligible scribe candidates. A 1/3 mark negative marking applies for each incorrect answer in both CBT stages.
Application Fee
The application fee is:
· ₹500 for general candidates, with ₹400 refundable after appearing in the 1st Stage CBT.
· ₹250 for eligible candidates belonging to categories such as SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, Female, Transgender, Minority and EBC, with the applicable amount refundable after appearing in the CBT.

How to Apply for RRB JE Recruitment 2026
Eligible candidates may apply by logging on to the RRB
website or rrbapply.gov.in
and complete their application by following the below-given
procedure:
1. Eligible candidates need to visit the official website of
RRB or rrbapply.gov.in.
2. Then, applicants have to look for the application link for
CEN No. 04/2026 (JE/DMS).
3. After that, candidates have to register by entering a
valid mobile number and email id.
4. Now, you need to choose an RRB and enter your choices for
eligible posts and Railway Zones/Production Units.
5. Candidates need to fill in the required personal,
academic, etc.
6. Now you need to select the applicable exam groups and
languages.
7. In addition to this, you need to upload the required
signatures and documents.
8. Candidates have to complete the live photo capture process
as per the guidelines provided on the application portal.
9. Then, you are required to make the payment of the
examination fee.
10. Lastly, you need to submit the application and save the
registration number and confirmation page for future reference.
In this regard, it is important for the candidates to apply
only once to a particular RRB. Multiple applications from any applicant will
lead to the cancellation of all the applications made. Thus, multiple
applications will also lead to debarment from appearing in any RRB/RRC
examination in future.

Candidates should keep the following documents ready while applying:
· Diploma/Degree certificate and mark sheets
· Matriculation/10th certificate for date of birth
· Category certificate, where applicable
· PwBD/UDID certificate, where applicable

Important Instructions for Candidates
Before applying, candidates must ensure the choice of the
examination centers and their eligibility. The mobile number, email, and
selected RRBs entered by the candidate during registration cannot be changed. Moreover,
a candidate is advised not to apply multiple times because the later
applications are canceled by the system, and they may get rejected.
Therefore, before applying,
the candidates must consider their choice of post, education, age, and
category.
